Contemplative Meeting - "The Power of the Word"

At this contemplative meeting in the tranquil and serene atmosphere of the School of the Golden Rosycross, texts from various universal perspectives will be interspersed with moments of music and also a time for silence and contemplation between the excerpts.

Contemplation on the word and on the use of the word is something of all times. ‘He who knows is sparing of words, the verbose is ignorant’, the Chinese philosopher, Lao Zu, wrote in the sixth century BC. Six centuries later, Paul spoke at least as penetratingly about the word in his Letter to the Hebrews:

‘For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of Soul and Spirit, of joints and marrow.’ [Hebr.4:12]

In this time that is dominated by images, the written and spoken word seen to lose strength. However, is this really the case? And what is exactly meant by the statements by Lao Zu and Paul? How can the word be a source of inspiration for our everyday lives? We would above all like to answer these questions in the light of the philosophy of the School of the Golden Rosycross.

We sincerely hope that you can join us on this very special occasion.

This free event will take place from 17:00 to 18:00 on Saturday 9th April in The Lantern Centre, Ruah Room, 15 Synge Street, Dublin 8.

Doors open 15 minutes before the start of an activity with coffee/tea. There is on street parking available.

Kind regards,

Lectorium Rosicrucianum
